Healthcare
Heart Hospital – Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Center
This project was envisioned by NYP’s hospital administration to act as a bridge building between the Irving Ambulatory Care Pavilion and the Milstein Hospital Building. Planned and completed with Pei Cobb Freed and Partners when principal Charles Calcagni was a partner with DaSilva Architects, now E4H Architects, this multi-story building upgraded sorely needed new facilities for NYP’s Cariology Program. Using a glass climate wall, Hudson River views, energy savings and light are brought to waiting areas for the surgical and diagnostic departments housed within. Diagnostic Imaging, Ambulatory Cardiac Offices, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, Cardiac Catheterization, CICUs and a new Conference Center are now seamlessly tied to services in the Milstein Pavilion and Doctor’s offices and two new Ambulatory Cardiac floors in the Irving Pavilion. Receiving national attention once completed, this project was awarded a LEED Gold Certification and received multiple design citations by the Chicago Athenaeum, NYS AIA and other groups.
