New York Presbyterian Automated Lab

As a principal of DaSilva Architects, Chip Calcagni served as Partner in Charge of this multi-phase upgrade to NYP’s Columbia campus Central Laboratory. The renovation was done over the course of four years involves three areas and has three lanes of automated chemistry.

The lab was the first area to be brought on line and is designed to allow for changing analyzer modules. The lab has a testing area to begin the process of integrating a new processor with the LIS before putting on the line. This allows for ramp up of new modalities while still doing work on the existing analyzers and not interrupting line functions until the new piece of equipment is fully integrated.
